Double Chin Injections Melbourne
Fat dissolving injections for double chins are a wonderful way to reduce body fat and enhance the appearance of your face.
It’s a relatively recent therapy that’s both quick-acting and very effective when done by an expert.
Why are fat dissolving injections used?
Most often, fat dissolving injections are used to treat double chins. Many people suffer from excessive fat in the neck below the chin, also known as a “double chin,” which may be caused by weight gain, genetics, or age.
However, you don’t have to be overweight to have it, and no matter how much you exercise or diet, this won’t go away. Fat dissolve injections are a non-surgical alternative for removing stubborn fat.
How does this treatment work?
The synthetic active component in fat dissolving injections that Dr Wong uses is called Phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate (PCDC). It is a naturally occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and elimination of fat cells. This is a safer and more versatile product than the more heavily marketed BelkyraTM. It can be used to reduce fat deposits in the jowls, nasolabial folds, under-eye bags and also under the chin. BelkyraTM however is only indicated for the under chin region.
Fat cell injections are used to treat fat in various areas of the body. Once injected, fat cells are destroyed and no longer able to store or accumulate fat. Multiple treatments are often required, and when the desired cosmetic aim is met, you can stop treatment.
Each treatment is made up of a series of tiny injections placed under the chin. The number of treatments required varies from patient to patient. Each procedure is at least 6 weeks apart. Patients typically notice changes after 2 to 4 sessions.
What are the side effects of fat dissolving injections?
Bruising, swelling, discomfort, numbness, redness, and hardness might be experienced at the injection sites. These are generally self-limiting and usually go away after a few days-weeks.
What are the risks of fat dissolving injections?
Fat dissolving injections can rarely pose adverse outcomes, eg. temporary nerve palsies, which may result in an uneven smile. This is more often than not temporary. The risks with PCDC are less than with BelkyraTM
It’s critical that the injections are administered by a clinician with extensive knowledge of neck anatomy and how to avert these complications.
