All-on-4® Dental Implants in Glen Iris

Dr Jaclyn Wong has been performing All-on-4® implant surgery for over 20 years, trained at the Malo Clinic in Lisbon, and holds a Nobel Biocare Centre of Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding surgical outcomes.

Significant tooth loss affects far more than appearance. For many patients, the decision to pursue All-on-4® dental implants comes after years of managing a mouth that has made daily life harder than it should be — and reaching that decision takes courage.

Dr Jaclyn Wong has been performing All-on-4® full-arch restoration for over 20 years, and welcomes patients from Glen Iris and across Melbourne who are ready to explore their options with her.

Understanding All-on-4® Treatment

All-on-4® is a full-arch dental implant technique that replaces an entire upper or lower set of teeth using four strategically placed implants. Two implants are positioned vertically at the front of the jaw, and two are angled toward the back, distributing load across the arch and eliminating the need for bone grafting in most cases.

The result is a fixed, non-removable set of teeth that functions and feels like natural teeth. Unlike dentures, All-on-4® is anchored directly to the jaw, so it doesn’t require adhesives and doesn’t need to be taken out at night.

Who is All-on-4® for?

All-on-4® is designed for patients who have experienced significant tooth loss or deterioration. The patients who come to Dr Wong for this procedure have often been managing failing teeth, embarrassing loose dentures, advanced decay, poor functionality or severe gum disease for years, and have reached the point where restoring individual teeth is no longer possible.

Because of the angled implant design, All-on-4® is suitable for many patients who have been told they lack sufficient bone for traditional implants. A thorough assessment with 3D imaging is the first step, and Dr Wong will go through the results with you to discuss your options.

Dr Wong's All-on-4® experience

Dr Jaclyn Wong began performing All-on-4® procedures 20 years ago, working alongside the principal at Bond Street Dental and assisting with his cases on a hands-on basis for over a decade. She trained directly at the Malo Clinic in Lisbon, the practice that pioneered the All-on-4® technique, and was part of the surgical team at Malo Clinic Australia.

In 2023, Nobel Biocare awarded Dr Wong a Centre of Excellence recognition, a distinction confirmed as continuing , reflecting a sustained superior standard of All on 4® implant practice.

She also holds both a medical degree and a dental degree, bringing a depth of surgical and anatomical understanding to implant planning and execution that informs every case she takes on.

The All-on-4® Process

3D Scan & health questionnaire

Prior to your initial consultation with Dr Wong, we ask patients to first book a 3D scan and complete a detailed health questionnaire. A 3D scan gives a detailed picture of your jaw structure, so the treatment plan is built around your anatomy from the outset. The health questionnaire provides broader insight into your medical history, allowing the consultation to be as personalised to your needs as possible.

Initial consultation & assessment

Every All-on-4® case begins with a thorough consultation. Dr Wong will discuss your dental history, your state of health, and what you’re hoping to achieve. With the 3D scan and your overall health information readily available, the consultation is much more well informed to identify treatment options  and a detailed plan.

Oral health therapy

Before implant surgery, Dr Wong may recommended an oral health therapy programme depending on your oral health and treatment plan. This can help prepare the gum tissue and support long-term implant health where appropriate. Patients undergoing full upper and lower full-arch treatment with tooth removal will not require this step.

Surgery

All-on-4® surgery is typically completed in a single day usually under general anaesthetic. Remaining teeth are removed as necessary, the four implants are placed in each arch and a fixed provisional set of teeth is attached within 24 hours of the surgery. Patients leave with a temporary set of a full arch of teeth that has been designed to deliver optimal aesthetic outcomes.

Healing & final restoration

Over the following months, the implants will integrate within your jawbone. Once healing is complete, the provisional teeth are replaced with the final restoration, titanium reinforced and custom-made to suit your face, jaw and bite.

Ongoing care

Post-surgical hygiene care is provided through the clinic using EMS Airflow technology in dedicated hourly appointments. More importantly, ongoing hygiene maintenance is something Dr Jaclyn Wong considers to be an integral part of the treatment itself and is pivotal to long term outcomes.

Prior to booking your All-on-4® dental implant consultation with Dr Wong, please ensure you have your 3D scan and a completed Health Questionnaire, and bring these along to your appointment. The forms can be downloaded from the links below.
